ITCZ, shear line, Amihan to bring rains over several areas
An Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), shear line and the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will bring rains over several areas of the country on Sunday, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.
Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Negros Island Region, and Palawan will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ, which PAGASA defines as the area where the winds from the Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere meet. Moderate to at times heavy rains may possibly lead to flash floods or landslides.
Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur may expect cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line. Flash floods or landslides may result due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The Northeast Monsoon meanwhile is affecting the rest of Northern Luzon.
Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, and the rest of Cagayan Valley will have cloudy skies with rains, with the possibility of flash floods or landslides occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The Ilocos Region and the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the monsoon.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may possibly result.
Coastal waters will be rough to very rough in Extreme Northern Luzon, and moderate to rough in the rest of Luzon.
Visayas and Mindanao meanwhile will have slight to moderate coastal waters.
