Amihan to bring rains over Luzon; shear line to affect Eastern Visayas

The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will bring rains over Luzon while the shear line will affect the eastern section of Visayas in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Tuesday afternoon.

In its weather forecast, the state weather bureau said Bicol Region, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar would experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line.

Leyte, Southern Leyte, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur may see cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Cloudy skies with light rains will persist over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon due to the Amihan.

It will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will be observed throughout the rest of the country due to the easterlies.

State meteorologists said winds would be moderate to strong while coastal waters will be moderate to rough in Northern and Central Luzon.

The rest of the country will expect light to moderate wind conditions and slight to moderate coastal water conditions.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:25 a.m. on Wednesday. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/VBL, GMA Integrated News
