Shear line, Amihan to bring cloudy skies, rains over Luzon
The shear line will continue to bring rains over the eastern section of Southern Luzon while the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will keep affecting the rest of Luzon in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Wednesday afternoon.
In its weather forecast, the state weather bureau said Bicol Region, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar would experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line.
Due to the easterlies, the same weather conditions will persist over Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur.
Moderate to at times heavy rains may cause flash floods or landslides.
The Amihan will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon, with no significant weather impact expected.
The easterlies will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Palawan and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao.
These weather conditions may trigger flash floods or landslides.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will be observed over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon due to the Amihan.
State meteorologists also said the eastern section of Luzon would experience moderate to strong wind conditions and moderate to rough coastal water conditions.
Winds will be light to moderate while coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the rest of the country.
Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:25 a.m. on Thursday. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/VBL, GMA Integrated News
