Amihan to bring rains over Northern Luzon; easterlies to prevail in rest of PH

The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will affect Northern Luzon while the easterlies will prevail in the rest of the country on Monday, PAGASA said.

Batanes, Cagayan, and Apayao will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the Amihan, but with no significant impact.

The Ilocos Region will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the monsoon. No significant impact is expected.

Mindanao may have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies. Moderate to at times heavy rains may possibly result in flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, in Metro Manila and the rest of the country, the skies will be partly cloudy to cloudy, and there may be isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may possibly occur.

Coastal waters will be moderate to rough in Northern Luzon and the eastern section of Mindanao.

The rest of the country will have slight to moderate coastal waters.

Sunrise will be at 6:24 a.m. while sunset will be at 5:56 p.m.

Meanwhile, PAGASA said the possibility of having a tropical cyclone this February is zero to one, according to a report on Unang Balita.

If ever a tropical cyclone forms, this may divert or dissipate or might even weaken before landfall.

As of Tuesday, PAGASA has not monitored any tropical depression or low pressure area affecting the country. —KG, GMA Integrated News
