PAGASA: Cloudy skies over Luzon, rains in parts of Mindanao
The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will bring cloudy skies over Northern and Central Luzon while the easterlies mean scattered rainy weather over the rest of the country in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Monday afternoon.
In its weather forecast, the state weather bureau said Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Oriental will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
These moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides.
Cloudy skies with light rains will be observed over Batanes, Apayao, Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora due to the Amihan.
The Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region, the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, and the rest of Central Luzon.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
These conditions may result in severe thunderstorms that could trigger flash floods or landslides.
State meteorologists also said extreme Northern Luzon will experience strong wind conditions and rough coastal water conditions.
Winds will be moderate to strong, while coastal waters will be moderate to rough in central Luzon and the rest of Northern Luzon.
The rest of the country will see light to moderate wind conditions and slight to moderate coastal water conditions.
Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:24 a.m. on Tuesday. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
