'Danger level' heat index expected in Dagupan City on March 4, 2025

Dagupan City in Pangasinan could expect the heat index to reach the "danger" category on Tuesday, March 4, PAGASA said in its forecast.

According to its two-day heat index forecast, Dagupan City could see temperature rise to 42ºC.

The "danger" category of heat index is between 42ºC to 51ºC.

With these temperatures, PAGASA warned the public that heat cramps and heat exhaustion are likely, while continued exposure could lead to heat stroke.

The state weather bureau advised the public to limit the time spent outdoors; drink plenty of water; avoid tea, coffee, soda and liquor; wear umbrellas, hats, and sleeved clothing outdoors; and schedule heavy-duty activities for the beginning or end of the day, when it's cooler.

The heat index is the measure of the temperature that a person feels in contrast to the actual air temperature. It is computed by factoring in the humidity as well as the air temperature. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
