ITCZ to bring scattered rains over southern Mindanao

ITCZ to bring scattered rains over southern Mindanao

Scattered rains are expected in southern Mindanao in the next 24 hours due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), PAGASA said Sunday afternoon.

In its 5 p.m. weather forecast, the state weather bureau said the affected areas are Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, BARMM, and Zamboanga Peninsula.

The ITCZ is predicted to also bring the same weather conditions over Palawan.

These moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will persist over Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to the easterlies.

These severe thunderstorms may cause flash floods or landslides.

State meteorologists also said Northern Luzon will see moderate wind and coastal water conditions.

Winds will be light to moderate while coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the rest of the country.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:48 a.m. on Monday. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
