Metro Manila, 24 other areas to reach ‘dangerous’ heat index level on Black Saturday


A total of 25 areas in the county, including Metro Manila, were forecast to have a heat index under the “danger” level on Black Saturday, April 19, 2025, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

Based on the report released on Good Friday, the following areas will experience danger level heat index (42°C to 51°C):

Meanwhile, Baguio City in Benguet and BSU in La Trinidad, Benguet will experience the lowest heat indices in the country with 27°C and 28°C respectively, both falling under the Caution category.

PAGASA categorizes areas with 42°C to 51°C heat index under the danger category, while areas with 52°C and above fall under extreme danger.

Heat stroke is imminent in areas under extreme danger, while heat cramps, exhaustion and heat stroke are probably risks under the danger level.
