PAGASA: Trough of LPA, ITCZ to bring rains over Mindanao, Palawan

Trough of LPA, ITCZ to bring rains over Mindanao, Palawan

A low pressure area (LPA) and the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will bring rains over Palawan and Mindanao, state weather bureau PAGASA said Wednesday.

In its 4 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said the LPA was estimated at 805 kilometers east of Southern Mindanao and embedded along the ITCZ. It has an "unlikely" chance of development into a Tropical Depression within the next 24 hours.

Davao Region will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the trough of LPA.

Palawan and the rest of Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms triggered by the ITCZ.

In these areas, PAGASA warned against possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

As a result of the easterlies, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
