‘Danger level’ heat index expected in 17 areas on Thursday, May 1, 2025
A “danger level” heat index is forecast for 17 areas in the country on Thursday, May 1, PAGASA said Wednesday.
According to the state weather bureau’s 5 p.m. April 30 bulletin, the synoptic stations in the following areas could measure a 42°C-45°C heat index:

- Ambulong, Tanauan, Batangas

- NAIA, Pasay City
- Dagupan City, Pangasinan
- Iba, Zambales

- Cubi Pt., Subic Bay, Olongapo City
- San Ildefonso, Bulacan
- TAU Camiling, Tarlac
- Alabat, Quezon
- Masbate City, Masbate
42°C
- Bacnotan, La Union
- Tuguegarao City, Cagayan
- ISU Echague, Isabela
- Hacienda Luisita, Tarlac City
- San Jose, Occidental Mindoro
- Cuyo, Palawan
- CBSUA-Pili, Camarines Sur
PAGASA categorizes areas with a 42°C to 51°C heat index in the "danger" category, with a risk for heat stroke.
Dr. Marvin Manzano, officer-in-charge of the Office of Civil Defense Research Doctrine Division, reminded the public to follow the advisories released by government agencies for their safety and well being amid the increasing temperature in the country.

The Department of Health also advised Filipinos who have prolonged sun exposure to drink as much as 10 glasses of water daily, with the heat index reaching up to a dangerous 50°C in some areas in the country. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BM, GMA Integrated News
