‘Danger level’ heat index alert up in 15 areas for Monday, May 5, 2025

Fifteen areas in the country are forecast to experience a “danger level” heat index on Monday, May 5.
According to the state weather bureau’s 5 p.m. May 4 bulletin, the synoptic stations in the following areas are expected to measure a heat index of 42°C to 45°C on Monday:

44°C
- Dagupan City, Pangasinan
- Aparri, Cagayan
- Tuguegarao City, Cagayan
- ISU Echague, Isabela
- Sangley Point, Cavite City
43°C
- NAIA Pasay City
- Laoag City, Ilocos Norte
- Tayabas City, Quezon
42°C
- MMSU, Batac, Ilocos Norte
- Bacnotan, La Union
- Iba, Zambales
- Cubi Pt., Subic Bay, Olongapo City
- TAU Camiling, Tarlac
- Masbate City
PAGASA classifies heat indices between 42°C and 51°C under the danger category, with a risk for heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
