LPA, easterlies to bring rain over Palawan, Davao

Scattered rains and thunderstorms will persist over Palawan in the next 24 hours due to the trough of the Low Pressure Area (LPA) while the easterlies will experience similar conditions over the Davao Region, PAGASA said Monday afternoon.

At 3 p.m., the LPA was observed 555 kilometers west northwest of Coron, Palawan.

In its 5 p.m. weather forecast, the state weather bureau said Caraga, Davao Region, and Southern Leyte will see cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

These moderate to at times heavy rains may cause flash floods and landslides.

The easterlies will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

These severe thunderstorms may trigger flash floods and landslides.

State meteorologists also said the country will experience light to moderate wind conditions and slight to moderate coastal water conditions.

Sunrise will be at 5:31 a.m. on Tuesday. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
