23 areas to hit 'danger level' heat index on Friday, May 16

Twenty-three areas of the country will experience ''danger level'' heat index on Friday, according to PAGASA’s forecast on Thursday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the lowest heat index is expected to be recorded in BSU, La Trinidad, Benguet, which is 24°C, falling under the "not hazardous" category.

PAGASA categorizes areas with 42°C to 51°C heat index under the danger category, while areas with 52°C and above fall under extreme danger.

These temperatures may cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
