‘Danger level’ heat index expected in 30 areas on Friday, May 23, 2025

Thirty areas across the country could reach a “danger level” heat index on Friday, May 23, PAGASA said in a forecast.
Based on the state weather bureau’s 5 p.m. May 22 bulletin, the synoptic stations in the following areas could reach a 42°C-46°C heat index on Friday:

- Laoag, Ilocos Norte
- Tuguegarao City, Cagayan
- Subic Bay, Olongapo

- Batac, Ilocos Norte
- Cacnotan, La Union
- Echague, Isabela
- Baler, Aurora
- Casiguran, Aurora
- Camiling, Tarlac
- Sangley Pt., Cavite City
- Tanauan, Batangas
- Infanta, Quezon
- Alabat, Quezon
- Daet, Camarines Norte
- Masbate City
- Catarman, Northern Samar

PAGASA classifies heat indices between 42°C and 51°C under the danger category. These may cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
