ITCZ to bring rains to Palawan, parts of Mindanao
The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring rain over parts of Mindanao and Palawan while the easterlies will affect the rest of the country in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Monday afternoon.
In its 4 p.m. weather forecast, the state weather bureau said cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will persist over Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and Palawan due to the ITCZ.
The same weather conditions will be observed over Batanes due to the frontal system.
These moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides.
The rest of Mindanao will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience the same weather conditions due to the easterlies.
These severe thunderstorms may cause flash floods or landslides.
State meteorologists also said extreme northern Luzon will see moderate to strong wind conditions and moderate to rough coastal water conditions.
Winds will be light to moderate while costal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the rest of the country.
The sun will rise at 5:26 a.m. on Tuesday. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BM, GMA Integrated News
