Cloudy skies, rains forecast for parts of Mindanao due to ITCZ

Multiple weather systems continue to affect the country, according to PAGASA’s daily weather forecast on Wednesday afternoon.

The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) is set to cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms in the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Zambales, Bataan, and Palawan, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Zamboanga Peninsula, SOCCSKSARGEN, BARMM, Davao Occidental, Davao del Sur, and Davao Oriental will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides may occur due to these weather conditions.

Meanwhile, moderate winds with moderate seas will be observed in the northern and western sections of Luzon.

The rest of the country will expect light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:26 a.m. on Thursday. — Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
