Rain showers over parts of PH; tropical cyclone outside PAR, PAGASA says
The Habagat or Southwest Monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rain showers over Central and Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao on Tuesday, PAGASA reported.
The weather bureau, in its 4 a.m. forecast, is monitoring a tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). The tropical depression is 600 kilometers west southwest of Bacnotan, La Union or 535 kilometers west of Iba, Zambales packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour with gustiness of up to 55 kph and moving southwestward at 20 kph.
Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan will have occasional rains due to the Southwest Monsoon with possible flash floods or landslides occurring due to moderate to heavy rains.
Metro Manila, Visayas, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, and the rest of Central Luzon and Mimaropa will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms also due to the Southwest Monsoon. Flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to heavy rains.
Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon and flash floods or landslides may result during severe thunderstorms.
The rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorm. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may occur in some areas.
The wind speed forecast for the western sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas is moderate to strong and moving southwestward, with moderate to rough coastal waters.
Northern and Central Luzon will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the south to southeast direction while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.
The rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds moving in the south to southwest direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
