Auring weakens into LPA; scattered rains expected over most of PH
Batanes will have cloudy skies with scattered rains due to the trough of the Low Pressure Area (LPA) as the southwest monsoon or Habagat and easterlies bring scattered rains over the western section of Northern Luzon and the rest of the country on Friday, PAGASA reported.
As of 2 a.m., the weather bureau reported that Tropical Depression Auring has weakened into an LPA and is now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). It has an "unlikely" chance of redeveloping into a Tropical Cyclone within the next 24 hours.
Batanes will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the trough of the LPA as flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Ilocos Region and Babuyan Islands will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Surigao del Sur and Davao Oriental will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies with flash floods or landslides occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring during severe thunderstorms.
The wind speed forecast for northern and western sections of Northern Luzon is moderate to strong moving in the southwest to south direction as coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
The rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the southeast to south direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
Visayas and Mindanao will have light to moderate wind speed moving in the east to southeast direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
