LPA trough, Habagat to bring rains over several areas
The trough or extension of a low pressure area (LPA) and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will bring rains over several areas on Monday, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.
The Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Aurora, and Quezon will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the trough of the LPA. Moderate to at times heavy rains may possibly cause flash floods or landslides.
At 3 a.m., the LPA was estimated to be located at 1,230 km east of Central Luzon.
The Southwest Monsoon meanwhile is affecting Visayas, Mindanao, Central Luzon, and Southern Luzon.
Metro Manila, Mindanao, MIMAROPA, and the rest of Central Luzon, CALABARZON, and Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may possibly result from moderate to at times heavy rains.
Localized thunderstorms meanwhile will cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of Luzon. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may possibly occur.
Coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the country.
