LPA outside PAR less likely to become tropical cyclone — PAGASA
A low pressure area (LPA) has formed outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), state weather bureau PAGASA said Tuesday.
As of 8 a.m., PAGASA said the LPA was seen 1,935 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon.
However, the LPA has a ‘’low’’ chance of developing into a tropical cyclone, PAGASA said.
PAGASA earlier said the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) would continue to drench parts of the country.
Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are forecast over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Batanes, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Antique, Aklan, Sultan Kudarat, and Babuyan Islands.
Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms may be experienced over the rest of the country.
The state weather bureau warned of possible flash floods or landslides in low-lying areas due to the rains. —Sundy Locus/VBL, GMA Integrated News
