PAGASA: New LPA spotted inside PAR

State weather bureau PAGASA said it has spotted a new Low Pressure Area (LPA) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility as of 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The LPA has a "low potential" of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, it added.

Meanwhile, PAGASA continues to monitor an earlier LPA outside PAR, which is "unlikely" to become a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

It said Tropical Depression Danas, formerly Bising, is still being monitored outside PAR.

In its 4 p.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said Metro Manila and parts of the country will continue to experience rains due to the Southwest Monsoon or habagat.

It said the moderate to at times heavy rains could trigger flash floods or landslides in some areas, and residents should take caution. —LDF, GMA Integrated News
