Rains to persist over PH due to Habagat

The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will continue to bring rain over several areas in the country in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Sunday.

According to its 4 p.m. daily weather forecast, the state weather bureau said these areas are Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Occidental Mindoro, Romblon, and Palawan.

These moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Habagat.

These severe thunderstorms may cause flash floods or landslides.

PAGASA said at 2 p.m., it ceased monitoring the tropical cyclone "Nari," which is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

“No other tropical cyclones or developing low pressure areas are being monitored,” PAGASA said.

State meteorologists also said wind and coastal water conditions in extreme Northern Luzon will be moderate.

Winds will be light to moderate, while coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the rest of the country.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:35 a.m. on Monday. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
