LPA inside PAR develops into TD Crising

The low pressure area inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has developed into a Tropical Depression on Wednesday, according to PAGASA.

"As of 8:00 AM today, 16 July 2025, the Low Pressure area (LPA 07f) being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has developed into Tropical Depression "CRISING,"" PAGASA said in its 10 a.m. advisory.

Crising was last spotted 780 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes with maximum sustained winds of 45 kph and gustiness of up to 50 kph.

It is currently moving west at 35 kph.

PAGASA said that rains may be expected around the country as a result of the Southwest Monsoon and the effects of the typhoon.

Residents in the areas expected to be affected by the weather systems are advised to be on alert for possible flash floods during severe thunderstorms.

Crising will be the third typhoon to enter the PAR in 2025, following tropical cyclones Auring in June and Bising in July. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
