Huaning expected to exit PAR on Tuesday, Aug 19
Tropical Depression Huaning is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Tuesday, Aug. 19, as it continues to head northward slowly, PAGASA said late Monday evening.
Based on its 11 p.m. weather bulletin, the state weather bureau said Huaning was located 545 kilometers east northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, carrying maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (km/h) and gusts of up to 70 km/h.
“Huaning is forecast to move generally northward and exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility tomorrow (19 August) morning or noon,” PAGASA said.
“On the track forecast, the tropical depression may pass near or over the Ryukyu Islands tomorrow morning or afternoon,” it added.
The bureau maintained that the storm is not likely to affect the country.
Huaning is also forecasted to remain as a tropical depression throughout the forecast period.
However, its intensification is still not ruled out, but is not the most likely scenario at this time. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
