LPA to bring rains, cloudy skies over parts of PH on Monday
The low pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) is expected to bring rain over several areas in the country, PAGASA said Sunday afternoon.
At 3 p.m., the LPA was located 430 kilometers east northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
It is expected to affect the weather conditions of Visayas, Bicol Region, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region, and Quezon Province, according to the state weather bureau’s 4 p.m. weather forecast.
Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over SOCCSKSARGEN, Zamboanga Peninsula, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, and Palawan.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will persist over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
PAGASA warned that these weather conditions may trigger landslides or flash floods.
The state weather bureau is also monitoring Typhoon Kajiki, formerly Isang, which is moving westward at 15 km/h.
At 3 p.m., the tropical cyclone was spotted 1,075 km west of Northern Luzon, packing maximum sustained winds of 150 km/h near the center with up to 185 km/h gustiness.
State meteorologists also said winds will be slight to moderate, while coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the country.
