PAGASA forecasts thunderstorms in parts of PH due to Habagat, LPA trough

The trough of a low pressure area (LPA) and the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat will continue to bring scattered rains and thunderstorms in Metro Manila and parts of the country on Tuesday, weather bureau PAGASA said.

In its weather bulletin, PAGASA also said that as of 2 a.m., the LPA being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility has a "low" potential of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

At 3 a.m., the LPA was estimated at 865 kilometers East of Northern Luzon, it added.

Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Ifugao, and Benguet will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms brought by the trough of LPA.

Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon.

The Southwest Monsoon will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms in Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and the rest of Visayas.

The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the localized thunderstorms.
