Easterlies to bring cloudy skies, rain in PH
Several areas in the country are expected to experience cloudy skies and rain due to the easterlies, PAGASA said Sunday afternoon.
Based on the state weather bureau’s 4 p.m. weather forecast, these areas are Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Meanwhile, the localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms throughout the rest of the country.
These severe thunderstorms may cause flash floods or landslides.
PAGASA said it is still monitoring Tropical Storm Tapah, formerly Lannie, outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
At 2 p.m., Tapah was observed 715 kilometers west of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, moving northwestward at 15 km/h.
It has maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 105 km/h.
Lannie exited PAR on Saturday.
State meteorologists also said the western section of Northern Luzon will see moderate wind and coastal water conditions.
Winds will be light to moderate, while coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the rest of the country.
Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:45 a.m. on Monday. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
