LPA in PAR 'unlikely' to become cyclone within 24 hours

A low pressure area (LPA) within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) off the eastern coast of Luzon is unlikely to become a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, state weather bureau PAGASA said Wednesday morning.

The LPA was last seen over the coastal waters of Vinzons, Camarines Norte as of 8 a.m.

PAGASA previously reported that no LPA was being monitored for tropical cyclone formation as of 2 a.m.

Meanwhile, the weather bureau also noted that the country may experience cloudy skies and rains due to the effects of the easterlies.

The public was advised to stay alert for possible flash floods or landslides because of these weather conditions. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
