PAGASA SAYS

LPA inside PAR has 'low' chance of becoming TD

The Low Pressure Area being monitored by PAGASA inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has a low chance of developing into a tropical depression.

In an advisory issued at 2 am, PAGASA said it does not expect the LPA to develop into a storm within the next 24 hours. However, it still advised the public to monitor updates.

The LPA was last spotted in the vicinity of Castilla, Sorsogon.

PAGASA said this may cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms in Metro Manila, Visayas, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and Bicol Region.

Meanwhile, the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the Easterlies.

In Mindanao partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms are also expected, brought by localized thunderstorms. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
