Habagat to weaken by October - PAGASA
The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat may weaken by October, state weather bureau PAGASA said on Tuesday.
“Normally, patapos na ang Habagat natin by September and by October, magkakaroon na tayo ng transition period. So expect natin unti-unti hihina na itong Habagat pagdating ng October,” said PAGASA Weather Division chief Juanito Galang in a press briefing.
(Normally, our Southwest Monsoon season is winding down by September. By October, we'll be in a transition period, so we can expect the monsoon to gradually weaken.)
PAGASA first declared the start of Habagat season last May, which meant occasional to frequent rains and thunderstorms.
According to the weather forecast of PAGASA, the Southwest Monsoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Eastern Visayas, Marinduque, and the rest of Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, and the rest of MIMAROPA. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA Integrated News
