Tropical Storm Quedan now in PAR

Tropical Storm Quedan entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Thursday afternoon.

Quedan, which is known internationally as Nakri, entered the PAR at 12:40 p.m., according to PAGASA.

As of 4 p.m., Quedan had maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 90 km/h, moving north northwestward at 30 km/h.

"Quedan is forecast to move generally northwestward and may exit PAR tonight or tomorrow (October 10) early morning," PAGASA said in its 5 p.m. bulletin.

"This weather disturbance is forecast to continue intensifying while approaching [the] Ryukyu Islands."

No Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal will be raised for this tropical cyclone, which is less likely to directly affect the weather and sea conditions in the country throughout the forecast period, PAGASA said.

However, the following areas may experience strong to gale-force gusts due to the southwesterlies, a low pressure area, and the northeasterly windflow:
