Cloudy skies, thunderstorms expected in parts of Luzon, Visayas

Three weather systems will cause cloudy skies and thunderstorms across the country, PAGASA said in its Thursday afternoon forecast.

Metro Manila, the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Nueva Ecija, Aurora, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Aklan, and Capiz will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies, which will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of Luzon.

Ilocos Norte, Batanes, and the Babuyan Islands will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains because of the Northeasterly Windflow, while the rest of the country will expect localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, PAGASA continues to monitor the low pressure area located 1,060 km east of southeastern Luzon at 3 p.m. Thursday. It said the LPA has a "high" chance of becoming a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours.

Moderate winds and coastal waters are forecast for the northern and eastern sections of Luzon. The rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:48 a.m. on Friday. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
