PAGASA: Cloudy skies, scattered rains expected on Oct. 21 due to easterlies
Parts of the country will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms today due to the easterlies affecting the eastern section of the Philippines, the state weather bureau said on Tuesday.
In its 4 a.m. public weather forecast for Oct. 21, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the effect of the easterlies – or cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms – will be felt over the Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao Region, and Batanes.
Bicol Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, also because of the easterlies.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA said Severe Tropical Storm Fengshen (formerly Ramil) is now outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility at 795 kilometers west of Laoag City as of 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Fengshen is moving westward at 25 kilometers per hour away from the country and is packing maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h near the center with gustiness of 115 km/h.
Extreme Northern Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters, while the rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
