Meralco sets power outages in 4 areas
Parts of Metro Manila and nearby provinces, including Cavite, Bulacan and Laguna, will experience scheduled power interruptions from January 12 to 18 due to maintenance and upgrading works, the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) said in an advisory.
In Bulacan, several areas in Angat, Doña Remedios Trinidad, Norzagaray, San Rafael, San Ildefonso, San Jose del Monte City and Pandi will have power interruptions on January 12, from 12:01 a.m. to 1 a.m. and again from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.
The affected areas include portions of General Alejo G. Santos Highway, M. Valte Road, Pandi–Angat Road, Pandi–Bustos Road and Del Monte–Norzagaray Road. Meralco said the outages are due to testing and repair works inside the Meralco–Sapang Palay substation.
In Muntinlupa City, parts of Barangays Alabang, Bayanan, Putatan and Tunasan will experience power interruptions from 11:30 p.m. on January 12 until 4:30 a.m. on January 13.
Affected areas include portions of the PNR railroad track, Bautista Street, San Guillermo Street and nearby subdivisions and compounds.
Meralco said the outage is due to pole replacement, line reconstruction works and the installation of additional lightning protection devices along Bautista Street in Barangay Bayanan.
In Taguig City, portions of Barangay Lower Bicutan will have no electricity from 11:30 p.m. on January 13 until 3:30 a.m. on January 14.
Affected areas include parts of M. L. Quezon Avenue (C-6 Road) from General Santos Avenue to MRT Avenue, covering Puroks 1 to 6. The interruption is due to line reconstruction works along M. L. Quezon Avenue.
In Cavite, power interruptions are scheduled in Silang from 11:30 p.m. on January 15 to 3:30 a.m. on January 16. Areas affected include portions of Ipil Drive from Deserie’s Event Place to Bulihan United Methodist Church, as well as Franceville Subdivision Phase 2, Gainsville Subdivision, AFP Housing Zone 2 Subdivision and Old Bulihan Compound in Barangays Banahaw 1 and 2, Ipil 1 and 2, Bulihan and Yakal.
Meralco said the outage is due to facility upgrades and line maintenance works.
Navotas City will also experience power interruptions from 11:30 p.m. on January 16 to 4:30 a.m. on January 17.
Affected areas include portions of M. Naval Street from Navotas City Hospital to Daang Hari Street, nearby streets, and several commercial, religious, educational and shipyard facilities.
The interruption is due to pole installation and the upgrading of electrical facilities along M. Naval Street.
In Bulacan, parts of Barangay Malhacan in Meycauayan City will have no electricity from 10 p.m. on January 16 until 3 a.m. on January 17.
Affected areas include portions of Zig-Zag Road from Malhacan Road to Adela Store in Zigzag Hills Compound.
Meralco said the outage is due to the installation of poles and the upgrading and replacement of electrical facilities along Zig-Zag Road.
In Tanza, Cavite, parts of Barangay Santol will have no electricity on January 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Areas affected include portions of Bukal Road from Alfamart to Vezzaro Resort, as well as Pacific Heights Residences, Garden Homes, Pabahay sa Santol Subdivision and Villa Francisca Subdivision.
Meralco said the interruption is due to pole replacement and line conversion works.
In Laguna, short power interruptions are scheduled on January 18 in several towns, including Magdalena, Liliw, Majayjay, Sta. Cruz and Pila. From 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m., entire circuits serving multiple barangays in Magdalena, Liliw and Majayjay will be temporarily shut down.
Additional interruptions will occur from 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. and from 12 noon to 12:30 p.m. along portions of the Sta. Cruz–Pila National Highway and nearby barangays in Sta. Cruz and Pila.
Meralco said the outages in Laguna are due to the retirement of electrical facilities along the Malaya–Caliraya–Kalayaan transmission line in Barangay Lewin, Lumban.
The utility advised affected customers to take precautionary measures and regularly monitor its official advisories, noting that restoration times may vary depending on field conditions.—MCG, GMA Integrated News
