PAL advises passengers to be at airport 4-5 hours before flight
Flagship carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) advised passengers on international flights to check-in at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 (NAIA-2) at least four to five hours before their flight's estimated time of departure.
In an advisory, PAL said there is an insufficient number of staff at the airport's Immigration counters that resulted in long queues.
"Please come early in anticipation of long immigration lines," the airline said.
Some immigration officers have refused to work, claiming they are not being paid for overtime work.
But DBM Secretary Benjamin Diokno said the overtime pay the immigration officers were asking was against the law. He said that overtime pay for government employees should not exceed 50 percent of their regular pay.
