South bound roads along Roxas Blvd. closed for Asean meeting – MMDA

Some roads in Manila are closed Monday to give way to the 50th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting at Philippine International Convention Center in Manila.

South-bound roads parallel to Roxas Blvd., from P. Burgos to Buendia, will be closed from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., said MMDA Spokesperson Celine Pialago in a phone interview on GMA News' "Unang Balita."

Pialago advised motorists to avoid using roads near the PICC and Sofitel as these are designated for the Asean delegates.

Alternate routes have been provided for north-bound motorists.

“Kung pa-north bound po kayo, along Mcarthur Highway, Monumento Circle, Caloocan City, along Manila East road, Ortigas, Pasig City, Mindanao Avenue, meron na po tayong rerouting na nakahanda na po” Pialago said.

There is a total truck ban on Roxas Blvd., from Buendia to P. Burgos, on August 8 and MMDA advised motorists to take alternate routes.
