AMID BORACAY CLOSURE

Cebu Pacific temporarily suspends Caticlan flights

Budget airline Cebu Pacific on Thursday said it would temporarily suspend all flights to and from Caticlan, Aklan starting May 17 and until October 27 following the closure of Boracay island.

In a press release, the airline said it was suspending its Caticlan flights "on the back of sluggish demand as Boracay Islands remains closed."

The company said it would resume full commercial service in Caticlan once Boracay is opened in late October after undergoing rehabilitation.

Affected passengers may take the following options:

  • get a full refund
  • place the full value of the ticket in a travel fund for future use
  • rebook the flight within 30 days without penalties, subject to flight/seat availability
  • reroute to any domestic destination within 30 days without penalties, subject to flight/seat availability.

At present, Cebu Pacific is in the process of informing passengers affected by the flight cancellations. — Anna Felicia Bajo/MDM, GMA News
