West Service Road in Muntinlupa is now one-way for motorists amid Skyway construction

A portion of West Service Road in Muntinlupa has been made one-way for motorists as construction continues for the Skyway extension project, according to a report by Jonathan Andal on GMA News' Unang Balita on Monday.

The said one-way scheme starts from Alabang Hills toward Alabang-Zapote Road.

Only southbound traffic is allowed on this portion of West Service Road.

Northbound motorists or those going from Alabang to Sucat will have to use the East Service Road.

Meanwhile, buses and delivery vans including closed vans have been prohibited from using the Skyway since they would be too heavy for the temporary steel ramp exit to Alabang.

Authorities closed the off ramp at Hillsborough toward Alabang due to the ongoing construction.

Trucks and buses may however use the Skyway at-grade or the portion of the said highway at ground level.

Meanwhile, Lane 3 of the Skyway at-grade portion is also closed to the southbound traffic. Thus, from three lanes, the Skyway is now two lanes at this portion.

The new traffic scheme will be in effect for three months until May.

As of posting time, traffic was heavy on the southbound direction from Sucat to Alabang. —KG, GMA News
