The LTFRB said traditional jeepneys can operate in these routes even without special permit, but they should have their QR codes displayed on their units.

These QR codes will be given to operators. They can also be downloaded through the LTFRB website starting on Tuesday.

“Kinakailangan na naka-register sa Land Transportation Office (LTO) ang PUJ unit bilang roadworthy o akma sa pagbiyahe sa kalsada, at mayroong valid Personal Passenger Insurance Policy,” the LTFRB said.

Safety measures set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) should be observed such as wearing face masks and face shields inside the vehicles.

The LTFRB also reminded drivers and operators that only 50% of their passenger capacity is allowed to be occupied in light of the physical distancing protocols under general community quarantine amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

No fare hike should be imposed, according to the LTFRB. —Joviland Rita/KG, GMA News
