“Philippine Airlines will keep a close watch on weather forecasts for the airports we serve in central and southern Philippines, in case we need to cancel or adjust other flights and routes,” it added.

PAL advised passengers to check the status of their flights at www.philippineairlines.com, or check further advisories on its official Facebook page.

According to the airline, passengers should not go to the airport if their flight is canceled, but instead use the rebooking options.

PAGASA on Wednesday said Odette further intensified while moving west northwestward over the Philippine Sea.

The typhoon, which has maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph, will continue moving westward and pass through numerous provinces in the Central and Western Visayas before emerging over the Sulu Sea on Friday morning or afternoon. — Richa Noriega/VBL, GMA News
