Cebu Pacific cancels several flights due to Odette


Airline Cebu Pacific announced on Friday evening that several December 18 and December 19 flights were canceled as the Cebu Mactan International Airport suspended operations, while the Siargao Airport and Surigao Airport assessed the damage, due to Typhoon Odette.

The canceled December 18 flights were:

  • DG 6839 / DG 6840 Manila – Siargao – Manila, and
  • DG 6881 / DG 6882 Manila – Surigao – Manila

The canceled December 19 flights were:

  • 5J 584 Cebu – Manila,
  • 5J 551 / 5J 558 Manila – Cebu – Manila,
  • 5J 561 / 5J 562 Manila – Cebu – Manila,
  • DG 6791 / DG 6792 Cebu – Ozamiz – Cebu,
  • DG 6839 / DG 6840 Manila – Siargao – Manila, and
  • DG 6851 / DG 6840 Cebu – Siargao – Cebu.

According to Cebu Pacific, affected passengers have been informed of the cancellations via contact details provided in the booking.

Meanwhile, passengers whose flights were canceled have three options:

Rebook
Passengers may rebook for travel within 60 days at no additional cost, following CEB’s permanent removal of change fees. The fare difference is waived.

Passengers who wish to rebook may conveniently do so through the Manage Booking portal on the Cebu Pacific website (http://bit.ly/CEBmanageflight).

Travel Fund
Store the amount in a virtual CEB wallet valid for two (2) years and use this to either book a new flight or pay for add-ons (e.g. baggage allowance, seat selection, etc.)

Refund
The process may take up to two (2) months from the date of request.

Cebu Pacific is working on mounting recovery flights for the passengers affected by cancellations and will provide updates as soon as possible. The safety of our passengers and crew in affected areas remains our topmost priority. Thank you for your patience and understanding, the airline said in as statement.

Passengers may select their preferred option through the Manage Booking portal on the Cebu Pacific website (http://bit.ly/CEBmanageflight) until 30 days from the date of departure.

Passengers were also advised to update their contact details via bit.ly/CEBUpdateInfo to receive email notifications on flight reminders and updates.

Furthermore, before going to the airport, passengers were advised to check the travel requirements, safety protocols, and frequently asked questions (FAQs) on the CEB website: bit.ly/CEBFaqs.
