MRT3 implements provisional service from North Avenue to Shaw due to technical glitch
A technical problem caused the disruption of service on the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT3) on Tuesday afternoon.
According to an advisory issued by the MRT3 management, provisional service was implemented from North Avenue station to Shaw Boulevard station and vice versa at 4:59 p.m. following a reported technical glitch in track circuits along Taft Avenue station.
“Technical personnel were immediately deployed to troubleshoot the issue. At around 6:13 p.m., after careful assessment, provisional service was lifted to accommodate passengers going to and from Taft Avenue station. For this, the single platform (Northbound) of Taft Avenue station was used,” MRT3 said.
Normal operations resumed at 6:53 p.m. with 17 trains running from North Avenue station to Taft Avenue station and vice versa, it added. — Mel Matthew Doctor/VBL, GMA News
