Canceled flights on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023
At least two flights to and from Calbayog City, Samar were canceled on Monday, January 9, due to inclement weather conditions, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) announced.
In an advisory, the MIAA said PAL Express flights have been canceled as of 4 p.m.:
- 2P 2671 from Manila to Calbayog, and
- 2P 2672 from Calbayog to Manila.
The MIAA attributed the cancelations to bad weather at the destination, with the trough of the low pressure area (LPA) and the northeast monsoon or Amihan bringing in rains in several parts of the country.
The state weather bureau PAGASA said cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in Visayas, Mindanao, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, and Catanduanes due to the trough of the LPA.
Meanwhile, the Amihan will bring cloudy skies with rains in the Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Quezon, Aurora, Marinduque, Romblon, Mindoro, and the rest of the Bicol Region.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains are expected in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, with PAGASA warning of the possible flooding and landslides in the affected areas.
