STARTING MAY 9

3 lanes on C5 to be temporarily closed at certain hours for sewer network project

Motorists were advised to take alternate routes as three lanes of C5 Road in Pasig City will be temporarily closed at certain hours starting May 9 for a sewer network project.

The road closure will be in effect from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting Tuesday, May 9, according to a report by Bam Alegre on Unang Balita on Monday.

This will give way to the construction of the North Pasig Package 1 sewer network project of Manila Water which may last until August 31.

Among the activities that will be done are excavation, pipe jacking, and manhole restoration.

Signs have been put up along the route to advise motorists of the temporary closure, particularly at the intersection of Lanuza Avenue and C-5 Road southbound in Barangay Ugong.

Below are among the alternate routes that motorists may take:

Alternate Route 1: from C-5 southbound:

  • right to Ortigas Avenue
  • left to Meralco Avenue
  • left to Capt. Javier St.
  • right to Danny Floro St.
  • left to Shaw Blvd.
  • straight to Pasig Blvd. to C5

Alternate Route 2: from C5 southbound:

  • right to Ortigas Avenue
  • left to Lanuza Avenue
  • right to Saint Martin Street
  • left to Capt. Javier St.
  • right to Danny Floro St.
  • left to Shaw Blvd.

Outside of the 10 p.m.-5 a.m. working hours, the three lanes on C-5 Road will be open to traffic as the road will be covered with concrete and asphalt. —KG, GMA Integrated News
