Some Manila roads temporarily closed for Alay Lakad 2023


A few roads in Manila were temporarily closed to motorists on Sunday morning to give way to Alay Lakad 2023.

The roads were closed starting at 3 a.m. and will be opened at 12 noon, the Manila Public Information Office said.

The affected roads are as follows:

  • Katigbak Drive;
  • South Drive;
  • Independence Road;
  • Bonifacio Drive, southbound from Anda Circle to Katigbak Drive;
  • Roxas Boulevard, southbound from Katigbak Drive to P. Ocampo Street; and
  • Kalaw Avenue, from M.H. Del Pilar Street to Roxas Boulevard.

 

Motorists were advised to take the following alternate roads instead:

All trucks and trailer trucks coming from Delpan Bridge:
Turn around/U-turn at Anda Circle to northbound lane of Mel Lopez Blvd./R10 to C-3; or turn right to Capulong to point of destination (old truck route).

All light vehicles from Anda Circle intending to utilize southbound lane of Bonifacio Drive: Turn right to A. Soriano Avenue straight to Magallanes Drive to point of destination.

All vehicles coming from McArthur Bridge, Jones Bridge, and Quezon Bridge intending to utilize southbound lane of Roxas Blvd. from P. Burgos: Take Round Table, then to Ma. Orosa to point of destination.

All vehicles from Gen. Luna St. intending to utilize southbound lane of Roxas Blvd. from P. Burgos: Take Round Table, then to Ma. Orosa St. to point of destination.

All vehicles from westbound lane of Kalaw Ave. intending to utilize the southbound lane of Roxas Blvd.: Turn left to M.H. del Pilar, turn right to UN Avenue, then left to Roxas Blvd. Service Road to point of destination.

 

The Alay Lakad 2023 is an event organized by the Alay Lakad Foundation, according to a report by Jhomer Apresto on Super Radyo dzBB.

Among the participants in the event on Sunday are personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
