QC issues traffic advisory for Pride PH Festival thanksgiving

The Quezon City local government on Saturday issued a traffic advisory due to the Love Laban 2 Everyone! Happy Equality: Araw ng Pasasalamat event on Sunday, June 30.

Traffic on Elliptical Road near Commonwealth Avenue will be on a stop-and-go scheme.

The traffic scheme will be implemented from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on June 30.

The innermost lane of Elliptical Road will also be closed to serve as parking area for attendees.

Additional parking spaces will also be available inside the Quezon City Hall compound.

Personnel of the Traffic and Transport Management Department (TTMD) and Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS) will help direct traffic, the local government said.

The Love Laban 2 Everyone, or the Pride PH Festival thanksgiving event will be held at the Quezon City Memorial Circle on Sunday, June 30 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

LGBTQIA+ community, allies, partner organizations, barangay Pride councils, sponsors, performers, and other individuals are expected to join the event to call for equality for all.

Last Saturday, June 22, the Love Laban 2 Everyone, or the Pride PH Festival, was held also at the Quezon City Memorial Circle. The event and protest saw more than 200,000 attendees.

June is Pride Month when members of the LGBT+ community, along with their allies, celebrate their vibrant community, raise awareness about their rights and challenges, and fight for inclusion. —KG, GMA Integrated News
