Expect traffic slowdown in Manila as M. Roxas Jr. Flyover begins rehab, says DPWH

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has begun the rehabilitation of the M. Roxas Junior Flyover in Manila, it announced over the weekend.

In a report by Christian Maño on Super Radyo dzBB, work on the northbound lane of the flyover is estimated to take seven days per segment.

“To pave way for the retrofitting and strengthening works at M. Roxas Jr. Flyover, the Department of Public Works and Highways – North Manila District Engineering Office will begin repairs at selected expansion joints on its northbound portions, starting May 9, 2025 (10 PM),” DPWH NCR said in an advisory.

“To ensure safety and progress, partial lane closures will be implemented in segments, with each segment covering two consecutive expansion joints per half-lane,” it added.

For the safety of motorists and the public, the DPWH advised a partial lane closure of the flyover.

The DPWH also cautioned of traffic slowdown in the area and advised motorists to take the service roads or find alternate routes to their destinations. —RF, GMA Integrated News
