LRT-1 on limited ops from Dr. Santos to Central Station
Light Rail Transit-Line 1 (LRT-1) trips were temporarily limited on Thursday from Dr. Santos Station in Parañaque to Central Station in Manila and vice versa.
LRT-1 private operator Light Rail Management Corporation said trips were limited due to a technical fault.
“Our Engineering Team is on-site and working diligently to resolve the issue and restore full line operations as quickly as possible,” LRMC said.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding during this unforeseen incident,” it added.
According to Jamie Santos’ report on “Saksi”, commuters were seen waiting for the resumption of the train at R. Papa Station amid the rain during rush hour.
Some of them told GMA Integrated News that they waited for about an hour inside the train before getting off.
The LRMC said the train malfunctioned at the 5th Avenue Station.
“Pinababa kami ng R. Papa (Station) para itulak yung train na sira eh wala. Sumakay kami sa bagong train, 'di rin umaandar (We were asked to get off at R. Papa Station to push the stalled train, but nothing happened. We boarded a new train, but it didn't move either),” a passenger said.
According to a passenger at 5th Avenue Station, the stalled train is still not fixed past 8 p.m.
LRMC said as of 10:09 p.m., LRT-1 resumes its full operations.
"The LRMC Team has successfully completed all necessary repairs and comprehensive assessments. Our dedicated Engineering and Maintenance Team worked diligently to ensure the safety and efficiency of our services," LRMC said. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
