Duterte declares June 15, 2018 a holiday in observance of Ramadan’s end

President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday declared June 15 a regular holiday nationwide in observance of Eid’l Fitr to mark the end of Ramadan.

Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go said Duterte isssued Proclamation 514 in connection with the religious holiday.

Eid al-Fitr is celebrated by the Muslim world for three days after the end of the month of fasting. It is the first day marking the end of the 30-day fasting period of Ramadan. —NB, GMA News
