Class cancellations for Friday, August 25, 2023

Classes for Friday, August 25, 2023, have been canceled in a private university in Manila in relation to the opening ceremonies of FIBA World Cup 2023.

In an announcement on Facebook, San Beda University - Manila said classes and office work in the university are suspended on August 25, 2023 "[i]n support of the opening ceremonies of the FIBA World Cup 2023."

Other private universities and colleges in Manila have yet to make similar announcements as of posting time.

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. earlier ordered the suspension of classes in public schools at all levels and government work in Metro Manila and Bulacan on August 25 to give way for the opening ceremonies of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.
